GATE Service Reach

This document lists the residential ISPs together with the corresponding BGP-ASes, that can reach the SCION-Internet through a GATE service, together with the GATE Provider to contract with.

GATE Service

Once subscribed, the GATE Services provided by the GATE Providers allow the subscribers of the listed BGP-ASes to access a service/endpoint connected to the SCION-Internet.

To know if your users can potentially reach your GATE protected service, you need to know to which BGP-AS number (ASN) their IP address belongs.

To this end, you can use whois services such as:

• RIPE (type the IP address and search for “origin” in the results)

• Whois (type the IP address and search for “origin” in the results)

• IPinfo (type the IP address and search for “asn” in the results)

Several providers offer APIs to check the ASN related to a (set of) IP address(es), such as:

• ip-api

• IPinfo

If you don’t know the IP address of the user, and if you want to double check if they can potentially access the SCION Internet through their ISP, you can test it by connecting to gate.anapaya.net from the user device:
